Scholarships:

The Jay Ginter Youth Sailing Scholarship is available to students and families for whom the course fees are truly prohibitive, because no one should be prevented from enjoying Youth Sailing beause of the cost. They’re very informal. If you'd like to inquire about financial aid, please send us an e-mail very briefly explaining the situation and we’ll do our best for you (our goal is to get kids out on the water). There are no set criteria for scholarships, and approval is given at the discretion of the Board, and we want very much to make it work. It's very nice if scholarship recipients and/or their parents can find the time to do some volunteer work with with us (like helping with the dock launch, for example), but this is in no way a requirement.

JYS scholarships are given in honor of Jay Ginter, who passed away in 2011. Jay was one of our founders, an avid southeast sailor and all-around wonderful human being. Donations given in Jay's memory greatly bolster JYSailing's ability to offer financial aid and keep the boats afloat. Thank you one and all (JG especially).
